Overall FanDuel Football Strategies:
The key strategy for FanDuel success with fantasy football is to maximize your $60,000 salary cap. To do this you need to know which players are undervalued and which are overvalued. Follow the steps below for a 15 minute process to help select the most competitive team possible.
1. Rank your top 200 players for each week. This is not as time consuming as it sounds. There are literally hundreds of sites that provide player rankings. Some personal favorites are espn.com, nfl.com, fftoolbox.com, and fftoday.com. The great thing about the latter is that it ranks all players using over 100 different expert opinions. You can even select which experts you want to use to develop customized player rankings. For a stronger advantage use the projected points for each player as well.
2. Take your top 200 players and enter them into a spreadsheet. This can be done in a matter of seconds with the above sites either by exporting the data or simply copying and pasting.
3. Now you need to get the top 200 or so players from FanDuel, based on salary. This takes a couple minutes, but is a crucial part of the process. You will need to copy and paste the top 50 or so players from each position along with their FanDuel salary. The more players you select the more time consuming, but the better your chance for finding a hidden sleeper. Copy and paste these into your spreadsheet next to the player rankings
4. The final step is to compare your player rankings and projected points with each player's FanDuel salary. The key here is wringing out the most projected points from your meager $60k salary. You can either just scan your two lists and look for players with high projected points and low salaries, or you can develop more complex algorithms if your spreadsheet skills allow. 5. Now you have to develop your FanDuel roster. Because the salaries for defenses and kickers vary only a fraction, we suggest you pick your highest ranked defense and kicker, regardless of salary. Then pick your remaining 7 players using the salary remaining. Remember, a good defensive showing can make or break your FanDuel football strategy.
FanDuel Strategies Based on Game Type:
FanDuel offers 3 basic types of games: head-to-head, tournaments, and 50/50. The strategy you employ will depend on which type of game you are playing. For example, head to head and 50/50 games, in which you win by beating a single opponent or beating half of the opponents, respectively, deserves a more conservative approach. You just have to be better than the other guy (or half the other guys) to get a payout. On the other hand, in tournaments which can have as many as 10,000 other competitors, you will need to be much more aggressive and take greater risks.
